Red snowflake?

Today's sponsor is:

Crafty Individuals

Crafty Individuals is an exciting web based venture into the creative world of craft and altered art products for long term friends and business partners, Jean Hardy and Malcolm Noble. Jean is a practising artist, avid crafter, and teacher, and Malcolm is a professional photographer, and we live and work in the North East of England. Both of us are fully involved in the design and manufacture of the Crafty Individuals unique brand of popular and top quality art rubber stamps, cutting dies, masks/stencils, and paper craft products.

In the beginning we concentrated on creating a beautiful, top quality, range of unique art rubber stamps, inspired by all things vintage but still with a contemporary feel, and with something to appeal to everyone. Our classic Individual range of stamps features fine and detailed collage style focal designs, and the newer Elements sets of rubber stamps feature themed sets of images to enable you to build your own background designs and collaged art and craft projects. Since then we have added lovely, professionally printed, books of craft papers, image sheets, and printed tags to the range, more recently followed by adorable masks/stencils, and top quality thin metal cutting dies. We also have a carefully chosen range of other essential ‘Must Have’ products on our website to complement your crafting experience.

Here I present to you one of the most strange
cards I have ever made: an easel card with a
red coaster looking like a snowflake and a red
flower / star on top of it. This is what the main
font part looks like. And yes, it is a little heavy.

How do you make a heavy front like that stand
up without falling down? Well I took my other
red coaster (with hearts), cut it and placed it
as a "stopper" and it seems to work!

The white ribbon with flowers is from Crafty
Ribbons and can be found right HERE.

What do you think? I like it! Hope you
like it too and can get inspiration to make
something with coasters you don't use!

Decorate a vase

Hi; today Joanna Sheen is featured at
Crafty Ribbons December event:

Joanna has been involved in the craft world since 1979. She has written over 30 books on cookery, herbs, stencilling, crafts and flowers during the past 20 years and is now best known for her work on TV with her craft CDs, card making and pressed flower craft programmes. She lives in Devon with her husband Richard and youngest daughter Emily - never forgetting their bossy little cocker spaniel called Wellington - Welly for short!
Joanna started building her pressed flower company back in 1979 and soon had a thriving international concern, making sales around the world. She has sold pictures to many of the major stores in London, New York and Tokyo, Australia and other countries in Europe. This thrived until 2006 when Card making finally won and took over all the production and warehouse space at the company, but Joanna's first love will always be flowers in some form or another!
Teaching comes naturally to Joanna, she began her craft school here in the UK some 17 years ago and there is also the Joanna Sheen Flower School based in Osaka and with teachers spread around Japan. Joanna's craft courses are now very limited with other commitments taking so much of her time but, old and welcomed visitors return every year for Joanna's new and innovative teaching.
A selection of craft goodies to include a
Joanna Sheen Cd and project book.

To be eligible; hop over to Pure
Inspiration Blog and put your name
on a very long list!

Today I wanted to show you what I did with an
an empty vase / bowl I bought in a second
hand store just for this December event
at Crafty Ribbons. I took it to a florist and
asked her opinion, and she suggested a
nice hyacinth with moss around the bulb.
Like this:

So I brought the ribbons along to be able
to take a picture in the store but was not
satisfied with the bow - I decided it could
look better so I went home to make
another try another day.

Then I had to let my hyacinth stand
there waiting a couple of days and
look what happened; buttons are in
bloom and more are coming out:

I tried to make another bow with only
one ribbon, and I tried with a wider
ribbon but I was never 100% happy
with my bow. So you have to imagine
what it would look like if it would be perfect!
I'm sure you can do it nicer than me at
home once you practice and get the swing!

A simple snowman

Did you know this company before? See the
introduction of todays' sponsor at Crafty
Ribbons December event below:

I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with likeminded people.

I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself. This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back, I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art. Long may it continue!

If you hop over to The Pure Inspiration Blog this is what you can win:

Prize - $12 Voucher
